Sonny's Uncle Kofi & Aunt Hillary have welcomed Jacob into their world, and ours. Congratulations you three - and welcome to the club... a club identified by sleep deprivation and unconditional love.

All else is well here. Walter recently returned home from an extended stay at Grandma Chris' house - we congratulate him on a job well done.

Happy Birthday Grandma Chris + First Haircut!

Double entry - no way around it. The haircut pictures are in high demand.

First, happy birthday Grandma Chris! And thanks for spending time with Sonny each week - he loves it!

We spent some time over the most recent weekend further Sonny-proofing a few areas of our home. It gives him more room to walk around (that's right, he's walking) and yell incoherently.

He also got his first haircut on Superbowl Sunday, although not a super-bowl-cut (ouch, lousy joke). It was done in the living room by Daddy, using TV and food as the primary distraction.

All went well, only the back came out a little choppy. We'll be sure to get it cleaned up before his first job interview.

And, finally, a shout-out to Walter who has been helping Grandma Chris celebrate her birthday for the last week or so - such a party animal. Woof, woof!

Happy Birthday Grandmom Barbara!

What a setting - Point Pleasant, NJ - a house on the beach. Sure, it's cold outside but that didn't take anything away from the views, the food, or the company. Grandmom Barbara turned 70 last week, and celebrated with her children, their spouses, and Sonny!

When we returned home, there was rock. And Sonny was a thrilled by the electrified guitar as daddy (almost). He then gave the dog a bone.

Woof!

Christmas Time, Christmas Time (and New Years!)

Technically, last year was Sonny's first Christmas, however I don't believe he remembers it. So, one could make a case that this was Sonny's first Christmas. Either way, he seemed to enjoy himself despite constantly fighting a cold.

It started out at home, with the Donnellys on Christmas Eve and of course Christmas morning. Sonny was delighted most of the time.

We then went to Grandma Chris' house for Christmas dinner, where we were joined by many. Sonny was again delighted - the celebration that never ceases! It was Sonny's first experience with potatoes au gratin - perhaps a little rich for his little tummy - a restless sleep was to come.

After an evening to ourselves, we were joined by Grampa Bill & Grandma Joni, who Sonny doesn't get to see nearly enough of. He was delighted once again. These people know grandkids, and their dogs do too!

And finally, New Years Eve, spent quietly at home with Mom & Dad. Champagne and warm formula flowed, all were asleep by 11pm, and Sonny slept soundly. Sonny was delighted of course.

Happy 2009 everyone!
