Pre-Turkey Day Warmup

Just a quickie to get some recent pics up for display. Notable events included a trip to NYC / Central Park, intro to acoustic guitar, football discovery, and first steps!

Oh yeah, AND Sonny's first face-to-face with a giant Elmo (who was a little too big for Sonny's taste).

Not a very good picture, but an important milestone - Sonny's first unassisted step! Followed by a tumble in Walter's direction - I'm not sure if Walter is capable of recognizing the first day of the rest of his life, but this is likely a key moment.

Caged heat - so adorable in his hooded, striped supersuit. Adults everywhere are jealous.

We think we've discovered the cure for Rutgers' not-so-great start to the football season - and now he wears it for every game.

A very happy Halloween one and all. An old Saturday Night Live skit taught us a valuable lesson - don't be tempted by the lure of the dolphin, particularly if that dolphin can't find its way out of a river.

For Sonny's first Halloween, he went as that very land-shark although much less scary and predatory.

Mom and grandma Chris couldn't hold back the emotion during the parade... wait 'til graduation!

It was a weekend full of family - grandma Chris spent some time at our house after the parade on Friday.

Uncle Kofi and the soon-to-be mama bear, Aunt Hillary, came by on Saturday evening before we all went down to Rumson, NJ to celebrate grandpop Bob's birthday on Sunday morning.

So many events, so little time!

Boo!

Another action-packed week or two... so many pictures it was hard to choose. I'll just start from the top and leave you with a Halloween teaser. About two weeks ago, we were tipped off to a trail in the woods. Sonny jumped into his backpack and off we went!

Shortly thereafter, Aunt Sal came by with a very special suprise - Sonny's first pair of Vans. These are the original checked slip-ons, identical to daddy's first pair. Thanks Amanda!

There was a nap in the living room with Dad, and a precious moment caught on video with Walter - that boy makes some strange sounds!

We were all invited to Anahita's 2nd birthday party - we saw some old friends, and Sonny made some new ones. Thanks to Roya & Matt for inviting us - a truly great time was had by all!

Then we stopped by Jen, Scott, and Roxy's for a quick hello on our way home from the birthday party / autumn harvest festival. Congrats to the soon-to-be newlyweds!

Finally, I leave you with the aforementioned teaser... "Plumber. Candygram. I'm just a dolphin, ma'am."

We're gonna need a bigger, more adorable boat.

Octoberfest!

There he is folks, pumpkin butt! Oddly enough, it's padded to soften the landing which also makes it irresistible for smacking (lightly). This month, he stands - a lot.

A certain grandmother would have him be an Eagles fan. Please don't judge him until he's old enough to dress himself, when he will deserve your criticism. And below, guitar dreams.

We all went to an Autumn Harvest Festival at Ringwood State Park, where the bratwurst was delicious, the pumpkin beer flowed nicely, and the music was country (but in a good way).

Take note of the teeth in this shot (above). And below, evidence of a premature curiosity toward beer... yikes. We're not sure where he would get that from.
